About The Role: Quality Assurance Specialist

The Specialist, Quality Assurance at Checkr is a vital role within the organization, focusing on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of background checks for both strategic and enterprise clients. This position plays a key part in upholding Checkr’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed analysis of Checkr’s products and processes, systematically identifying patterns and opportunities for improvement. This role requires a meticulous approach to executing complex background checks, including identity verification, compliance adherence, and data classification, with a focus on maintaining the highest standards of accuracy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Product, Engineering, and Legal is essential to refine workflows, improve system accuracy, and address complex issues effectively. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to continuous process improvement, develop investigative expertise, and support Checkr’s mission of building fair and transparent decision-making platforms.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the background check industry or related field
  • Deep understanding of the US court system, including familiarity with accessing public access terminals and communicating with court agencies
  • Exceptional research and investigative skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative environment
  • Proactive and ownership-driven mindset with a bias for action
  • Experience with data analysis and process refinement is preferred
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations related to background screening

Responsibilities

  • Execute and process complex background checks with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Document findings in standardized formats, clearly identifying accuracy issues and root causes
  • Proactively investigate complex issues, developing effective solutions for clients
  • Identify patterns and trends to inform product and operational improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Product, Engineering, and Legal to enhance workflows and system accuracy
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sampling methodologies, quality frameworks, and operational processes
  • Maintain detailed records of investigations and findings to support compliance and quality standards
  • Stay informed about industry standards, legal requirements, and best practices in background screening
