About the Role: Product Manager, AI/ML Product Builder

Extreme Networks is seeking a talented and hands-on AI/ML Product Builder to join their dynamic team as a Product Manager, AI/ML Product Builder (Core Intelligence). This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and deploying next-generation intelligence agents that form the foundational layer of Extreme’s network solutions. You will be instrumental in building the entire AI/ML stack—from platform and data pipelines to models, agents, and user-facing applications—to revolutionize network monitoring, diagnosis, and optimization. This mid-level, builder-oriented position requires a strong blend of product sense, technical proficiency, and practical experience with AI tools and systems. The ideal candidate will excel at the intersection of AI/ML, systems thinking, and innovative product development, contributing to impactful, organization-wide solutions that enhance network reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and shipping AI/ML features or agents, including LLMs, anomaly detection, predictive systems, or autonomous workflows.
• Minimum of 5+ years in product management or combined product/technical roles.
• At least 2+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions end-to-end.
• Strong familiarity with AI tools such as vibe coding, Copilot, RAG frameworks, and agent orchestration.
• Proficiency in lightweight coding or scripting in Python, with the ability to accelerate prototyping using AI assistance.
• Excellent product instincts, with the ability to simplify complex technical domains and prioritize effectively.
• Experience working with telemetry, logs, event streams, and data signals for automation opportunities.
• Strong communication skills suitable for remote collaboration and asynchronous workflows.
• Knowledge of LLM orchestration, retrieval pipelines, vector stores, guardrails, and trade-offs related to latency and cost.
• Understanding of agentic patterns and safety boundaries is a plus.
• Experience in networking and security domains is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and network SMEs to define and develop AI/ML-powered agents that enhance network reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of intelligence capabilities—from discovery and scoping to prototyping, development, launch, and iterative improvement.
• Leverage AI tools to prototype agent behaviors, automations, reasoning flows, and user experience interactions.
• Partner with engineering teams to design and deploy agentic systems capable of multi-step reasoning, action-taking, validation, and learning from telemetry data.
• Translate raw telemetry, logs, events, and observed patterns into actionable models, insights, and agent behaviors.
• Define agent policies, triggers, safety boundaries, and success metrics to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Establish clear product and outcome definitions, evaluation frameworks, and performance metrics for AI/ML features.
• Work with design teams to create trustworthy, explainable AI/ML experiences, especially for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and decision support.
• Optimize model performance, latency, cost, and data quality in collaboration with AI/ML engineers.
• Build feedback loops and continuous evaluation systems to improve agent capabilities over time.
• Ensure all intelligence features adhere to enterprise safety, privacy, and responsible AI standards.
• Operate with a sense of urgency, simplifying complexities, removing blockers, and delivering tangible value rapidly.
