About The Product Manager, AI/ML Role

We are seeking a hands-on AI/ML Product Builder to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of Extreme’s next-generation intelligence agents. This role involves designing and deploying end-to-end AI/ML solutions that form the foundational intelligence layer across our product ecosystem. You will be instrumental in building systems that monitor, diagnose, and optimize network performance through intelligent automation. As a mid-level, builder-oriented professional, you will combine strong product intuition with technical expertise in AI, utilizing tools such as vibe-coding, rapid prototyping, and large language models (LLMs). Your work will directly impact how networks are managed, enabling more autonomous, self-driving networks that learn and improve over time. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of network intelligence, working at the intersection of AI/ML, systems thinking, and innovative product development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and shipping AI/ML features or agents, including LLMs, anomaly detection, predictive systems, or autonomous workflows
• Quick learner with a builder’s mindset, capable of rapidly understanding new concepts and translating ambiguity into prototypes
• Proficiency in using AI tools such as vibe-coding platforms (Replit, Copilot, Windsurf), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, and agent orchestration
• Ability to read/write lightweight code or scripts in Python, leveraging AI assistance for rapid prototyping
• Strong product instincts with the ability to simplify complex technical domains and prioritize features based on user value
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration, retrieval pipelines, vector stores, guardrails, and cost/latency trade-offs
• Experience working with telemetry, logs, and event streams to identify automation opportunities
• Excellent asynchronous communication skills, especially in remote work environments
• Experience in networking and/or security is a plus but not required
• Minimum of 5+ years in product management or hybrid technical/product roles
• At least 2+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML solutions end-to-end, including model evaluation and optimization

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and network subject matter experts to define and develop AI/ML-powered agents aimed at improving network reliability, performance, and operational efficiency
• Utilize AI tools to prototype agent behaviors, automations, evaluators, reasoning flows, and user experience interactions
• Partner with engineering teams to design and deploy agentic systems capable of multi-step reasoning, action execution, outcome validation, and telemetry-based learning
• Translate raw telemetry data, logs, observed patterns, and signals into clear models, insights, and agent behaviors
• Define agent policies, triggers, safety boundaries, and success metrics to ensure operational safety and effectiveness
• Establish clear product and outcome definitions, evaluation frameworks, and success criteria to guide development and deployment
• Work with design teams to create trustworthy, explainable AI/ML experiences, especially for diagnostics, troubleshooting, and decision support
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to optimize model performance, latency, cost, data quality, and decision accuracy
• Build feedback loops and evaluation systems to continuously improve agent performance and reliability over time
• Ensure all intelligence features adhere to enterprise-grade safety, privacy, responsible AI, and operational standards
• Operate with a sense of urgency by simplifying complex problems, removing roadblocks, and delivering tangible value rapidly
