About the Role
The M&A Recruiting Program Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the people aspect of M&A deals from diligence to onboarding within OpenAI's Recruiting organization. This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional judgment, speed, and discretion. It operates at the intersection of high-stakes decision-making and people management, helping shape the company’s future by attracting, integrating, and supporting extraordinary talent aligned with OpenAI's mission.
Key Qualifications
- 4+ years of program management experience in Mergers & Acquisitions
- Proven project management skills including stakeholder coordination, timeline management, and tool utilization
- Strong analytical skills and data interpretation
- Resilience and adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High discretion and experience handling sensitive situations
Nice To Have
- Familiarity with technical hiring in research or machine learning
- Background in recruiting, education program design, or talent development
- Experience supporting or building community-based programs
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP)
Responsibilities
- Design, lead, and scale the M&A People workstream program
- Develop and enhance playbooks, processes, and communication strategies
- Organize high-impact candidate and team events such as Town Halls and onboarding activities
- Partner with senior leaders, founders, and acquired teams with executive presence
- Lead post-mortem reviews to improve future deals and processes
- Collaborate with Recruiting Operations for scalable M&A recruiting processes and tools
- Support other strategic initiatives as needed
