About the Frontend UI/UX Designer Role

Ruby Labs is seeking a talented Frontend UI/UX Designer who has transitioned from a design background into frontend development. The ideal candidate possesses a refined design sensibility, advanced skills in Figma, and the capability to work independently from high-level references to craft exceptional user interfaces. This role requires a proactive individual capable of translating strategic design concepts into fully functional, polished UI solutions without constant supervision. You will be responsible for both designing engaging interfaces and implementing them using modern frontend technologies, ensuring every detail aligns with our high standards of quality and usability. The position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the intersection of design and development, contributing to innovative consumer products that make a real impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a UI/UX designer with a successful transition into frontend development.
• Advanced expertise in Figma and familiarity with modern AI design tools such as hero.ui.chat, v0.dev, and same.new.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience working with Next.js (14.0+), React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Strong understanding of component-based architecture and scalable UI design systems like NextUI and HeroUI.
• Ability to independently create complete interfaces from high-level references with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in translating strategic requirements into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Experience with problem-solving related to scalable component architecture and technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement exceptional user interfaces using Figma and AI-powered design tools based on high-level references, working autonomously with minimal guidance.
• Develop production-ready, high-quality code using Next.js 14.0+, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
• Create scalable, component-based UI modules using structured design systems like NextUI and HeroUI, maintaining consistency, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Translate strategic product requirements into intuitive and engaging interfaces that enhance user experience.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to ensure design fidelity and technical feasibility while maintaining design autonomy.
• Resolve design and technical challenges independently, building and maintaining robust, scalable component architectures.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development and UI/UX design, integrating innovative solutions into projects.
