About The Role
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Inventory team within Seller Engineering. This team plays a crucial role in supporting our sellers by managing their merchandise effectively and ensuring accurate representation on the platform. Our goal is to streamline the process so sellers can focus on what they do best—selling and engaging with their community. As part of this role, you will be instrumental in building a redesigned vision for how sellers operate live on Whatnot. The position offers flexibility to work remotely or from one of our global office hubs, with a preference for candidates residing within commuting distance of our New York office. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance the seller experience, leveraging your technical expertise to deliver high-quality features and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Expertise in frontend web development with React
- Proficiency in GraphQL for API development
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks; exposure to Next.js is a plus
- Background in web or mobile development (Next.js on Web or Native mobile)
- Strong product instincts with a user-first mindset
- Ability to implement pixel-perfect designs as per design team specifications
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to share insights and challenge ideas constructively
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end features
- Strong ownership instincts, capable of managing projects from inception to production and beyond
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality frontend applications using React and GraphQL
- Collaborate with product and design teams to implement user-centric features
- Translate design mockups into pixel-perfect interfaces
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to ensure code quality and maintainability
- Own projects from concept through deployment, monitoring, and iteration
- Push innovative solutions to improve seller management and platform efficiency
- Engage with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices
