About the role
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Automation Engineer role is to design, program, simulate, test, and improve automation products or processes to achieve required efficiency and effectiveness. This involves understanding software requirements, analyzing current technology architectures, and formulating project plans. You will contribute to the automation roadmap, improve existing frameworks, and build reusable libraries across business verticals.
Design and Execute Software Development and Reporting
Ensure the environment is ready for execution by designing test plans, developing test cases, scenarios, and usage cases. Resolve complex technical design issues, participate in design activities with the development team, and implement strategies for testing both functional and non-functional requirements through automation. Key responsibilities include tracking and reporting on automation metrics, eliminating errors through code validation, and maintaining a database of defects and mitigation techniques. You will also design and implement automated testing tools, update them as needed, and develop efficient programs adhering to WIPRO standards.
Ensuring Smooth Flow of Communication
Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to understand product vision and backlogs, developing robust, scalable, and high-quality test automation for functional, regression, and performance testing. Assist in creating acceptance criteria and generating a test automation backlog. Work with the Development team to improve continuous deployment practices and collaborate with business Subject Matter Experts to understand automation requirements, then design, build, and deploy applications using automation tools. Ensure long-term system maintainability through documentation according to WIPRO guidelines. Provide clear and effective communication with testers, users, developers, and clients for problem resolution and accurate documentation. Assist testers and support personnel in identifying system problems. Ability to perform backend/database programming for key projects is essential. Stay updated on industry standards and incorporate them appropriately. Design and implement automated testing tools and update them as needed for efficiency and accuracy.
