Job Overview:
Wipro is seeking an experienced API Automation Quality Engineer with strong expertise in testing APIs and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of testing methodologies, hands-on experience with API testing tools like Rest Assured, and the ability to identify, debug, and report issues effectively. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that backend services are tested rigorously and meet high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, and executing manual and automated tests for backend systems and APIs using JIRA and X-ray.
- Creating detailed and well-structured test plans and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
- Performing functional, regression, and integration testing of APIs using tools such as Rest Assured.
- Validating backend services, APIs, and data flows by simulating various scenarios.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs through issue tracking systems in JIRA.
- Collaborating with developers and product owners to ensure clear understanding of requirements and to clarify bugs or test results.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting API responses, server logs, and performance bottlenecks.
- Working with CI/CD pipelines to ensure integration of automated tests into the deployment cycle, using Jenkins.
- Maintaining test suites, ensuring continuous improvement, and participating in the test automation strategy.
- Monitoring production environments for potential issues related to backend services.
- Demonstrating good communication skills.
Desired Qualifications (Good to have):
- Knowledge of Non-functional testing – e.g., Performance, accessibility.
- Knowledge of UFT for application testing.
