Power Plant Electrician - WIN Waste Innovations

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Technician. The primary function of this role is to safely and professionally install, troubleshoot, clean, inspect, calibrate, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and distributive control equipment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain facility equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform electrical preventive, repair, and calibration maintenance procedures with minimal supervision, adhering to regulations and company policies.
  • Initiate and complete work orders, requisitions, and document critical information.
  • Respond to emergency repairs during off-hours and travel to other company facilities for technical support when needed.
  • Proactively identify and address improvement opportunities and assume increased responsibilities as required.
  • Complete Corporate and Plant Training Programs within prescribed timeframes.
  • Utilize basic and precision measuring tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Follow standard safety procedures, report hazards, and understand lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work overtime and rotating shifts as requested or required during outages.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, using various communication methods.
  • Anticipate and address potential or recurring problems with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Operate various mobile equipment, including forklifts and manlifts.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through professional interactions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the Industrial or Power Industry Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Field, OR a minimum of 2 years experience as a 3rd class E&I Technician with required instrumentation training/experience.
  • Possess necessary licenses as required by State, Environmental, and/or Federal regulatory agencies.

Work Environment

This role operates in an environment with significant noise levels. Physical demands include prolonged standing, sitting, walking, handling tools, reaching, climbing, and walking on heights. The position requires stooping, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, crawling, and ascending/descending stairs and ladders. Lifting up to 50 lbs and moving throughout all plant areas, including catwalks and uneven surfaces, is necessary. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. The role may involve operating a 1.5-inch fire hose, fire extinguishing equipment, and accessing confined spaces.

PPE Required

Work may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, respirators (negative and positive pressure, SCBA), hardhats, safety shoes, eye protection, rubber suits and gloves, chemical-resistant suits, heat-resistant outerwear, flame-resistant outerwear, hearing protection, gloves, and safety harnesses.
