Role Overview

As a DevOps Intern at WillHire, you will collaborate with our engineering and infrastructure teams to learn and apply best practices in automating software development workflows, cloud infrastructure provisioning, and system monitoring. This hands-on role is designed for enthusiastic learners who want to build foundational skills in DevOps technologies and automation, with no prior experience required.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Assist in containerizing applications using Docker and deploying in Kubernetes environments.
• Support infrastructure automation with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system health and uptime using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Write automation scripts in Python or Bash to streamline tasks.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot build and deployment issues.
• Assist in configuring cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) for resource efficiency and scaling.
• Understand basic configuration management using tools like Ansible or Chef.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Passion for learning DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have (Bonus)

• Exposure to Python or Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts or Infrastructure-as-Code principles.

Stipend

The minimum stipend starts at £20 per hour, with potential for a higher rate based on performance.
