Production Team Member at Whole Foods Market
As a Production Team Member at Whole Foods Market, you will be an integral part of our metro food production facility, supporting Production Cooks, Machine Operators, and Expeditors. Your primary role involves the meticulous preparation of raw ingredients and materials for both hot and cold food production, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production operations, including prepping, portioning, and assembling raw materials to meet production targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to food quality, recipe yields, ingredient specifications, and recipe build guide standards for consistent output.
- Accurately weigh, measure, and stage materials essential for kitchen production processes.
- Operate industrial kitchen equipment like food processors, blenders, automated slicers, dicers, and perform manual knife handling.
- Maintain precise product labeling, verifying correct batch and pack dates, and accurately identifying allergens.
- Uphold a clean and sanitary working environment, maintaining equipment according to Whole Foods Market's cleanliness and safety protocols.
- Execute assigned opening, mid, and closing duties efficiently.
- Promptly report all safety violations and hazards, contributing to overall facility security.
Qualifications
We are looking for individuals with:
- 0-2 years of experience in a production kitchen or food manufacturing facility environment.
- A basic understanding of various prepping and cooking processes in a high-volume, USDA-certified food facility.
- Foundational knowledge of executing production orders efficiently while maintaining culinary excellence in a manufacturing setting.
- The ability to collaborate effectively, demonstrate self-motivation, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by facility needs.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This role requires:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Adherence to company dress code and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards for a production kitchen.
- Capability to perform essential job functions, with reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent hand use for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Regular bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures (<32°F, 32-40°F, >90°F).
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- Comfort working in both wet and dry conditions, potentially requiring ladder use.
Compensation & Benefits
The wage range for this position is $21.50-$35.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits," which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs. Eligibility for these benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable Whole Benefits plan at the date of hire.
