Job Description
About the Position
The Meat Team Member - Service Counter at Whole Foods Market supports counter service, stocking, and sanitation in the meat department. You will contribute to maintaining a fresh display, ensure high quality and safety standards, and help provide excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure quality, clean and well stocked cases and shelves.
- Maintain back stock and assist with inventory checks.
- Support sampling programs and keep sample areas clean and appealing.
- Perform cleaning duties of cases, coolers, equipment and floors.
- Provide courteous customer service and adhere to standard procedures.
- Follow food safety, weights and measures, and sanitation guidelines.
- Perform opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring proper signage and pricing.
- Report safety hazards and ensure compliance with all protocols.
Job Skills & Experience
No prior retail experience required. A passion for natural foods, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in wet, cold environments.
- Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment safely.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals and temperature extremes.
Compensation & Benefits
The wage range is $18.50-$25.00 hourly, based on experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits" which may include health insurance, retirement plan benefits, store discount, paid time off, and additional programs.
