POSITION SUMMARY:

The Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer provides hands-on technical support across IT and OT environments at WhiteWater Midstream. The role includes support for network infrastructure, security, applications, and field systems under the guidance of senior resources.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Networking and Security:

  • Assist with troubleshooting data and communication network issues including cellular, satellite, and radio.
  • Monitor network health, performance, and traffic under senior guidance.
  • Support firewall administration and configuration updates.
  • Implement security controls on new or existing systems.
  • Maintain cybersecurity standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Perform quarterly patching, firmware upgrades, and support OT cybersecurity projects.
  • Participate in R&D, compliance validation, and site visits for audits and troubleshooting.
  • Provide end-user support and maintain system documentation.

Infrastructure and Systems Support:

  • Assist with installing, configuring, and maintaining IT hardware, servers, network devices, and Azure resources.
  • Update network diagrams, system architecture documentation, and step-by-step guides.
  • Document troubleshooting and escalate complex issues.
  • Propose potential solutions for recurring issues.

Field Support and Management:

  • Support inventory tracking and licensing for field and OT devices.
  • Monitor performance of control systems to ensure compliance.
  • Help configure VPNs, radios, and cellular devices for field networking.
  • Travel to satellite offices, warehouses, and remote field sites as required.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the IT Infrastructure Lead and Business System Manager.
  • Document tasks and communicate with teammates and stakeholders.
  • Operate independently with minimal direction.
  • Works Monday-Friday with extended hours and on-call rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • 1+ years of experience with networking, IAM, GPO, O365, and Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with IT equipment setup and configuration.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.
  • Good understanding of wireless networking and security protocols.
  • Proficient in diagnostic techniques and documentation.
  • Willingness to answer after-hours calls and to travel in the Texas area.

Preferred:

  • 1+ year exposure to cybersecurity practices.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, MPLS, and other protocols.
  • Experience designing and implementing LAN, WAN, VLAN, and VPN networks.

Certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CISSP, and relevant OT certifications.
