Role: Technical Program Manager, Payments
We are looking for a strong Technical Program Manager, Payments to work with various Engineering teams. Your primary focus will be scaling observability, reliability, and on-call capabilities to enhance incident management and stability efforts. This role is crucial for improving Whatnot’s overall execution model and stability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the engineering roadmap, strategy, and execution of critical functional initiatives.
- Define requirements and technical roadmap with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to launch programs at lightning speed.
- Clearly communicate roadmap, progress, and insights to key teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure the engineering team operates effectively, unblock them, and maintain rapid pace.
- Take ownership of any major blocker to the company’s success.
- Drive strategic initiatives across the company as needed.

As our next Technical Program Manager, Payments, you should have 5+ years of relevant experience, plus:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary, and highly visible technical and operational initiatives across the company.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, identify trade-offs, and make decisions with limited information in high-pressure situations.
- Proven ability to develop sound research methodologies and collect, synthesize, analyze, and interpret data.
- Experienced in design and hypothesis-driven product development.
- Entrepreneurial drive to achieve stretch goals in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
- Startup experience at a high-growth company.
- Experience in the payments domain is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
For Full-Time (Salary) US-based applicants, the compensation range is $190,000/year to $250,000/year, along with benefits and stock options. The final salary will be based on factors like level, relevant experience, skills, and expertise. This range is for base salary only and does not include benefits or equity.
