About the Role

The Principal Software Architect in the Corporate Payments Engineering organization defines and executes the long-term strategic vision for the Corporate Payments platforms at WEX. The role includes modernizing and executing initiatives for the EnCompass platform, which serves as the customer facing interface including UIs, APIs, webhooks, and data streams.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will develop and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap aligned with business objectives and best practices. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing, driving, and executing a long-term vision for core services.
• Defining and implementing the architectural roadmap for the EnCompass platform.
• Fostering innovation, collaboration, and a culture of continuous learning.
• Collaborating with other engineering teams to streamline practices.
• Leading and growing high-performance engineering teams through hiring and mentorship.
• Working with product and commercial partners to exceed customer requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years in software engineering, expertise with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and strong skills in automation, testing, security, and compliance. Experience in finance applications is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range is $158,000.00 - $210,000.00 and is part of a comprehensive compensation package that includes bonuses and benefits such as health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Additional details are available in the "About Us" section.
