About the Role
Join Westpac New Zealand's Financial Crime Intelligence and Insights Team as a Senior Analytics Specialist. In this role, you will ensure the sanctions detection system is robust and compliant by becoming the subject matter expert in its functionality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assure the efficiency and compliance of the sanctions detection system.
- Serve as the SME for the sanctions detection model, understanding its design and performance.
- Run and enhance operational and compliance sanctions reporting.
- Improve detection methodologies and optimize system configurations.
- Collaborate to strengthen Westpac’s sanctions risk management framework.
- Mentor junior team members and build technical and analytical capabilities.
What Will You Bring?
- Experience in data-driven analytical roles, preferably in the financial industry.
- Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, R, and Git for version control.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Statistics, Data Science, or Mathematics.
- Understanding of sanctions compliance frameworks and global regulatory requirements.
- Ability to partner with stakeholders and mentor colleagues.
