Overview of the Human Resources Intern Role at Werfen

Position Responsibilities
The Human Resources Intern will provide essential HR compliance and administrative support to the HR team and employees. This role offers numerous opportunities to:

Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate the summer internship program.
- Conduct audits of I9, Personnel, Hep B files, and other documentation.
- Shred confidential information securely.
- Prepare folders for archiving.
- Handle filing of various HR paperwork.
- Perform reference checks for candidates.
- Assist with the hiring of new and temporary employees.
- Audit and update job descriptions to current formats as needed.
- Support the HR team with presentations and training programs.
- Evaluate and document exit interview results.
- Review federal and state laws for changes and compliance.
- Provide coverage in the HR department as required.
- Undertake other assigned HR tasks.
Qualifications
To be successful in this Human Resources Intern position, candidates should possess the following minimum knowledge and experience:
- Currently enrolled in a college degree program, with a preference for Business Administration or Human Resources.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to make decisions and escalate issues when necessary.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email applications.
The hourly wage range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for this position is $21 to $26. Compensation is based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific business needs.
