**The Position** Wellington Management manages approximately $22 billion in hedge fund assets globally, with our Global Macro platform accounting for over $6 billion and growing rapidly. We are currently seeking a Strategist to join our Global Macro team in London. This individual will work closely with senior strategists to develop and maintain comprehensive macroeconomic forecasts, with a focus on country-specific analysis and policy implications.Responsibilities
The successful candidate will bring a blend of quantitative rigor and qualitative insight to:- Develop and maintain detailed economic forecasts for a number of economies, including detailed country-level analysis and policy implications.
- Create proprietary economic indicators and quantitative frameworks to identify investment opportunities and identify market mispricing.
- Present economic insights & investment recommendations to portfolio managers.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following:- 5-10 years of relevant professional experience in macro analysis and forecasting. This may have been gained at another financial services firm or within a government institution.
- A strong academic background, including an undergraduate degree in Economics. A post-graduate qualification in Economics is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills & intellectual curiosity.
- Strong econometric and modelling skills; ideally proficient in Python, R, or similar.
- Excellent written and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex economics ideas into actionable investment insights.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a global team.
