About Healthcare Auditor Role

Role Overview

The Healthcare Auditor will support the Wellfleet Legal Team by developing and implementing internal audit practices and TPA audit practices to protect company assets and ensure operational efficiency. This role involves executing audits, reviewing internal controls, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct TPA audits, internal reviews, and special projects.
  • Analyze and document key business processes and internal controls.
  • Evaluate risks across departments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Perform data analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Prepare audit workpapers, findings, and corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with business partners, TPAs and internal teams.
  • Manage external audit requests including carrier and MedPro Group audits.
  • Promote ethical behavior and identify risky practices.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in accounting, finance or related field; 3+ years in auditing.
  • 2+ years experience in healthcare or health insurance preferred.
  • Certifications such as CPA, CIA or CISA, or in progress.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools (Access, SQL, ACL, Visio).
