Job Description

Software Engineer, Identity

CoreWeave, the AI Hyperscaler™, acquired Weights & Biases to create the most powerful end-to-end platform to develop, deploy, and iterate AI faster. Since 2017, CoreWeave has operated a growing footprint of data centers covering every region of the US and across Europe, and was ranked as one of the TIME100 most influential companies of 2024. By bringing together CoreWeave’s industry-leading cloud infrastructure with the best-in-class tools AI practitioners know and love from Weights & Biases, we’re setting a new standard for how AI is built, trained, and scaled.

The integration of our teams and technologies is accelerating our shared mission: to empower developers with the tools and infrastructure they need to push the boundaries of what AI can do. From experiment tracking and model optimization to high-performance training clusters, agent building, and inference at scale, we’re combining forces to serve the full AI lifecycle — all in one seamless platform.

Weights & Biases has long been trusted by over 1,500 organizations — including AstraZeneca, Canva, Cohere, OpenAI, Meta, Snowflake, Square, Toyota, and Wayve — to build better models, AI agents and applications. Now, as part of CoreWeave, that impact is amplified across a broader ecosystem of AI innovators, researchers, and enterprises.

As we unite under one vision, we’re looking for bold thinkers and agile builders who are excited to shape the future of AI alongside us. If you're passionate about solving complex problems at the intersection of software, hardware, and AI, there's never been a more exciting time to join our team.

What You’ll Do

You'll be joining the Identity team within our Platform organization. Our team owns all authentication and authorization logic across the Weights & Biases platform, including user management, organization management, and service account management. We integrate with multiple OIDC providers and support SSO across diverse deployment models. We support both our multi-tenant environment to both managed and on-premise single-tenant environments serving customers with varying identity provider requirements.

About The Role

As a Software Engineer II on the Identity team, you'll play a key role in evolving our identity infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing customer base. You'll spend your time building new product features, contributing to the restructuring of our identity systems into a dedicated service, and implementing critical security capabilities. Your day-to-day work will involve working on role-based access controls (RBAC), SCIM integrations, service account functionality, and supporting multiple deployment environments. This is primarily a backend-focused role (80% Go, 20% TypeScript/React) where you'll work across our multi-tenant and single-tenant architectures, occasionally helping debug customer issues across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong proficiency in Go for backend development.
  • Experience with TypeScript and React for frontend development.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL databases (MySQL or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain production systems
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerization
  • Comfortable working in distributed systems environments
  • Strong focus on writing clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
  • Excellent code organization and software architecture skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with authentication and authorization systems (OIDC, SSO, OAuth)
  • Familiarity with identity providers such as Auth0, Okta, PingFederate, or Microsoft Entra
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Experience across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with GCP services including BigTable and PubSub
  • Working knowledge of Redis and caching strategies
  • Background in security-oriented development practices
  • Experience supporting multi-tenant architectures
  • Familiarity with RBAC, SCIM, or other identity management protocols
  • Previous work on developer tools or platforms that serve technical users

Wondering if you’re a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we’d love to talk.

  • You love to build secure, reliable systems that engineers and ML researchers depend on.
  • You’re curious about identity and access management challenges in complex distributed environments.
  • You’re an expert in Identity systems.

Why Us?
