Overview

The Banquet Steward Team Member at Wegmans Food Markets works behind the scenes to ensure event success by gathering banquet and culinary needs with attention to detail. The role involves preparing and setting-up event spaces, maintaining inventory, cleanliness, and high standards.

What Will I Do?

• Assist with preparing conference facilities, off-site locations, and event areas.
• Support staging for events including plate, glass, china, and silverware set-up.
• Maintain cleanliness and high standards in the kitchen and event areas.
• Monitor and maintain par levels for disposables and equipment.
• Communicate with various Event Services teams and external partners.
• Track inventory before and after events using inventory systems.
• Adapt work to meet multiple demands in fast-paced environments.
• Provide additional support as needed.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

Required qualifications include 2+ years of experience in kitchen/banquet steward roles or similar service-oriented positions, effective communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications include experience with inventory management systems, familiarity with Banquet Event Order forms, and relevant food safety certifications.
