About the Banquet Steward Team Member Role

In this full-time role at WEGMANS FOOD MARKET, INC in Rochester, NY, you will work behind the scenes to support banquet and culinary events. You will collaborate with multiple teams to prepare event spaces, maintain inventory, and ensure exceptional cleanliness and organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare conference facilities, off-site locations, and event areas with attention to detail.
  • Support staging for events including plate/china counts, glass, and silverware setup.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in banquet areas and kitchens.
  • Monitor and track inventory using various systems before and after events.
  • Communicate effectively with the event services team and external partners.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in a banquet/kitchen steward role or a service-oriented position in food service facilities. Strong verbal and written communication, Microsoft Office skills, and experience with inventory management systems or BEOs are beneficial. Certifications such as HACCP, ServSafe Alcohol, or Food Safety Manager are a plus.
