Role Summary
The Senior Software Developer Database Infrastructure will join the Data Stores team within the Platform Engineering org. You will architect, maintain, and administer primary analytics data warehouses and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize database performance across Redshift, Snowflake, and RDS Aurora Postgres environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain database infrastructure in various environments
- Monitor performance and optimize query efficiency
- Develop backup/recovery procedures ensuring data integrity
- Implement security measures including access controls and encryption
- Automate database management and maintenance tasks
- Collaborate to optimize database schemas and queries
- Participate in on-call rotations for database issues
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation
What You’ll Bring
Over 6 years of hands-on administration experience in production with at least two of the following: Redshift, Snowflake, PostgreSQL. Proficiency in Python development and a strong understanding of database internals, optimization, high-availability deployments, disaster recovery, and security best practices are essential. Experience with Terraform, GitHub, infrastructure-as-code, and database change management tools is required.
Bonus Skills
Experience with cost optimization in AWS, financial technology, Kubernetes, open-source contributions, and data observability tools is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary (CAD $151,200 - $189,000) with potential for higher compensation, equity, comprehensive benefits including health, life insurance, vacation and wellness days, and a flexible remote-first work environment.
