Job Description

Intern, Agriculture & Food at WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development

The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is a global community of over 225 of the world’s leading businesses driving systems transformation for a better world in which 9+ billion people can live well, within planetary boundaries, by mid-century. Together, we transform the systems we work in to limit the impact of the climate crisis, restore nature, and tackle inequality. We accelerate value chain transformation across key sectors and reshape the financial system to reward sustainable leadership and action through a lower cost of capital. Through the exchange of best practices, improving performance, accessing education, forming partnerships, and shaping the policy agenda, we drive progress in businesses and sharpen the accountability of their performance.

Job Overview

Are you passionate about building sustainable food systems in Europe? Join the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as an Intern within the One Planet Business for Biodiversity (OP2B) team, where you’ll gain hands-on experience at the intersection of business, agriculture, and sustainability. You will support OP2B’s work in facilitating collaboration between some of Europe’s major food and agriculture businesses in accelerating regenerative agriculture in European landscapes and advancing enabling policy frameworks.

This internship will be instrumental in translating OP2B’s technical and landscape work into compelling communications and policy-relevant narratives. The Intern, Agriculture & Food will support the team in preparing high-quality content, member briefings, and strategic messaging to showcase OP2B’s progress at key international conferences (e.g. London Climate Action Week and the World Living Soils Forum) and in policy discussions in Brussels. Reporting to OP2B’s Associate for Policy Advocacy and Communications, the role combines content development, member engagement, and event coordination to ensure OP2B’s impact and leadership are clearly articulated to business leaders, policymakers, and financial actors.

We’re looking for a motivated and creative team player eager to make a positive difference and grow their career in private sector sustainability transitions. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project management by assisting with various projects specifically in support for communications, advocacy, event organization, and engagement with OP2B members.
  • Help draft materials such as reports, presentations, and communications for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating events, meetings, and workshops, including administrative support, agenda preparation, note-taking, and follow-up on action items.
  • Support engagement with members by helping coordinate communication and outreach efforts, ensuring effective interaction with stakeholders.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences

  • Currently enrolled in or holding a master's degree in communications, design, business management, food and agriculture sciences, or a related field.
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate an interest in food and agricultural policy or transition to sustainable and healthy food systems.
  • Clear and articulate communicator across various situations, with strong written skills, experience in content creation for social media (specifically LinkedIn), strong visual design skills, and the ability to create engaging PowerPoint presentations.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a professional environment is preferred but not required.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, regularly seeking feedback to improve performance.
  • Fluency in both written and conversational English.

The position is full-time for 6 months (starting beginning of April). It is based in Amsterdam, and a limited amount of travel may be required. The deadline to apply for this role is Tuesday, 3rd of March 2026.

WBCSD is a purpose‑driven organization that values diversity across gender, nationalities, and professional backgrounds. Headquartered in Geneva, with offices in Amsterdam, London, Singapore, Wuhan, Chicago, and New York.
