Role Overview
The Lumen Intern Engineering Associate will be aligned with the Enterprise Operations organization. You will work with the Headroom Capacity Monitor, Report, and Augment of Ethernet & Optical Transport platforms, as well as Fiber Interconnects across Metro Core East/West regions.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage capacity of metropolitan networks to core internet gateways.
- Prepare network augment plans and specifications using field data.
- Create complex network designs with limited raw data.
- Support hardware acquisition and subcontractor services as needed.
- Encourage open communication and foster a positive work environment.
Candidate Requirements
Must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited college with rising senior status by the start of the internship. Preferred fields include Business, Engineering, or Information Technology. Basic familiarity with SONET, Ethernet, DWDM, and analytical problem-solving skills is required.
Internship Details
This full-time, remote internship runs for 10 weeks (May 29 – August 7, 2026) and requires US Work Authorization. Compensation is hourly based ranging from $26 to $38 depending on experience and qualifications.
