Overview
This role is with Arup and is offered through WayUp. As an Arup Acoustic/Audio Visual Intern, you will work on 3D modelling, analytical research, noise and vibration measurements, and design work that contributes to sustainable built environments across the globe.
The Opportunity
You will be expected to:
- Undertake 3D modelling, analytical research, and calculations
- Assist with preparing reports, drawings, sketches, and models
- Visit project sites for inspections, measurements, and testing
- Develop, document, and present concepts using 2D and 3D drawing tools
- Review engineering and architectural drawings and coordinate with teams
Requirements
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in acoustics, electro acoustics, science, architecture, engineering, or music with relevant acoustics coursework. A professional demeanor, strong planning, communication skills, and a cover letter submission are required. Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional skills include:
- Knowledge in fundamental acoustics, vibration, noise control, and digital signal processing
- Experience with acoustic modelling software such as CATT, EASE
- Proficiency with 3D modelling and drafting tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Sketchup
- Additional computing skills including Python, Matlab, Adobe Creative Suite, and more

Salary Information
Hourly rates vary by location: Washington D.C. ($24.00 - $36.00), Boston, MA ($24.00 - $36.00), New York City, NY ($26.50 - $38.00), and Chicago, IL ($21.50 - $33.00) with variations for work outside these areas.
