About The Role

The ML Engineer role on the Mapping team focuses on automating the creation of high-definition maps essential for safe autonomous driving. This position emphasizes designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models that streamline the mapping process, using cutting-edge ML techniques such as Vision-Language Models and Generative AI.

Key responsibilities include owning the complete model lifecycle from data collection and preprocessing to training, evaluation, validation, and deployment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate research into scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Machine Learning with a focus on computer vision or deep learning
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX
• Understanding of the machine learning model development lifecycle
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and deploy machine learning models for high-resolution mapping
• Apply advanced ML techniques including Vision-Language Models and Generative AI
• Own the end-to-end development process from data collection to production deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research into production systems
• Continuously improve models through performance metrics and real-world testing
• Document methodologies and results for team knowledge sharing
