Digital Engineering Program Lead - Waymo
Waymo is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Digital Engineering Program Lead to drive end-to-end transformation across Supply Chain and Operations. This role will lead large-scale digital programs focused on automation, forecasting, planning, global partner integrations, inventory accuracy, logistics efficiency, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Digital Engineering, AI/ML, and cross-functional leaders to translate business needs into scalable systems, drive digital-first capabilities, and ensure successful program delivery from concept to production. The Business Systems Team
The Business Systems team defines and builds the business IT architecture that supports the commercial operation of Waymo's autonomous fleet. The team stands at the intersection of finance, operations and IT; through creative architecture, expertise and attention to detail, it ensures that Waymo has world-class capabilities across all its business processes.
What You Will Do:
- Program Leadership & Delivery: Lead the digital transformation for Supply Chain & Operations (planning, logistics, manufacturing, service). Manage end-to-end program delivery: scoping, requirements, execution, and go-live. Define technical/functional plans, risks, and success metrics. Ensure solutions are scalable and align programs with corporate OKRs.
- Business Partnership & Strategy: Act as the liaison between Supply Chain/Operations and Digital Engineering. Translate operational needs into system requirements (forecasting, integrations, logistics). Shape digital capabilities for global scaling (automation, AI). Identify gaps for cost/accuracy/throughput optimization.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Governance: Manage cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, etc.). Run portfolio governance (intake, prioritization, status reviews, executive reporting). Drive alignment on outcomes, timelines, and budget. Present updates to senior leadership.
- System & Capability Ownership: Own system delivery for: forecasting, partner integrations, inventory, logistics visibility, supplier/vendor management, and work order/service operations. Improve data integrity and operational insights using AI, analytics, and automation.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking. Oversee vendor partners, SOWs, contracts, and performance, ensuring cost-efficient delivery.
What You Bring:
- 8-10 years of experience in program/project management, digital engineering, or supply chain/operations technology roles.
- Educational background - Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent.
- Strong background in supply chain systems, ERP, planning platforms, integrations, logistics, or operations management.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs in a fast-growing or enterprise environment.
- Excellent skills in road map planning, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and executive communication.
- Ability to convert operational pain points into digital solutions with clear business impact.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, analytics, automation, and data-driven operations preferred.
