About Wanderlog
Wanderlog makes leisure travel easier by offering a top-ranked travel planning app and additional services like hotel booking and travel information. Founded by twin brothers with strong tech backgrounds from Stripe, Google, and Yale, the team comprises experienced engineers and designers who love travel.
What You’ll Do as a Full-Stack Software Engineer
You will own portions of the product and drive growth by:
- Building new features on our website and mobile app using modern JavaScript stacks including React, React Native, and Node.js/Express.
- Designing and deciding what to build to help travelers without a pre-written spec.
- Developing data pipelines to crawl and process web-sourced data.
- Writing tests and developing robust engineering infrastructure using fully typed (Typescript) code.
- Debugging, fixing bugs, and scaling infrastructure as our user base grows.
- Reviewing code written by other engineers to maintain quality.
What You Might Work On
Projects such as:
- User-friendly hotel booking interfaces.
- AI-powered tools summarizing travel content.
- Enhancements to our React Native mobile app.
- A Chrome extension for travel comparisons.
- Improved invite and collaboration tools.
- Better traveler profile pages.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of full-stack product development experience, strong JavaScript skills (React/React Native), product sense, and a passion for travel. Adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit are essential as you may work with various technologies including Redis, Elasticsearch, and Python.
Work Environment & Process
Work with a small, high-growth team through a process that includes asynchronous coding challenges, a coding interview with a founder, and a final virtual onsite interview.
