Senior Data Scientist, Operations Research

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable data science solutions for supply chain models.
  • Automate pipelines, design database structures, and streamline data flows using cloud services.
  • Utilize advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, simulation, and optimization techniques.
  • Create and maintain visualizations to communicate complex findings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, product, finance, and engineering teams.
  • Develop intelligent network transformation solutions including capital allocation and flow optimization.
  • Design interactive web applications enabling self-service for stakeholders.
  • Apply causal inference methods; design and evaluate tests such as A/B testing and synthetic controls.
  • Utilize geospatial systems to support last mile optimization and build dynamic visualizations.

Required Education & Experience

Master’s degree in a related field or a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience in analytics or related field.

Required Skills

  • Database design using SQL, Python, and GCP.
  • Machine learning model development in Python and Scikit-learn.
  • Optimization modeling using CPlex.
  • Statistical analysis with Python and linear regression.
  • Data visualization using Seaborn, Folium, Tableau, Kepler, and Leafmap.
  • Simulation execution and REST API deployment.
  • Web application development using Django and StreamLit.
  • Causal inference experimental design.
  • Geospatial analysis using uber H3.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary ranges from $144,075 to $234,000 per year with additional performance incentives, equity, and regional pay considerations. Walmart offers robust benefits including health, financial, PTO, and education assistance.
