Manager, Automation Engineering
This position is for a Manager in Automation Engineering at Walmart, based in Bentonville, AR. It involves responsibilities across operational excellence, data analysis, technical engineering, and automation system design.
What You'll Do
- Operational Excellence: Explain operational functions, clarify team roles, and highlight interdependencies among support and line functions.

- Mechatronics: Update CAD drawings, navigate control systems, and incorporate electrical design for automation.
- Automation System Design: Identify automation opportunities, evaluate machinery use, and solve related issues.
- Process Flow Design: Interpret supply chain data, understand logistics, and manage process flows.
Additional Details
This position requires occasional travel up to 20% of the time and may necessitate work at various Walmart locations and client sites across the U.S. It does not supervise employees.
Minimum Education and Experience
Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills
- Designing network capabilities
- Using diagramming applications for material flow process
- Data analysis and visualization (Big Query, MS Excel/VBA, MATLAB, Python, Minitab, Tableau, Power BI, Dataiku)
- Six Sigma and 5S techniques
- Defining performance metrics and process improvement
- Conducting observations, time studies, and FMEA
- Reading and updating engineering drawings
- Engaging in project management using tools like Gannt, Microsoft Planner, and WRIKE
Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges from $99,000 to $198,000/year, with additional performance incentives, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits including health coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and more. Eligibility requirements apply.
