Walmart is seeking a talented and passionate Distinguished Architect to serve as a visionary hands-on leader. In this role, you will code, set technical direction, and establish architectural standards across multiple domains and business units. Your influence will drive enterprise-wide technology strategy, ensuring innovative, scalable, secure solutions that align with long-term business goals.
Marketplace Architecture & Technology Strategy
Define and champion architectural blueprints, standards and best practices. Set the vision for cross-domain integration ensuring reusability and future-readiness. Evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations. Author technical papers and thought leadership content, and guide technology stack selection.
Technical Leadership & Innovation
Mentor senior architects and engineering leaders. Lead design and implementation of complex, enterprise-scale systems focusing on performance, security, and maintainability. Oversee telemetry, automation, and CI/CD pipelines. Drive adoption of secure coding practices and ensure industry compliance.
Strategic Requirement Analysis & Solution Design
Lead enterprise-level requirement analysis to align with Walmart’s strategic objectives. Resolve conflicting requirements, shape roadmaps for enterprise solutions, and guide the creation of user stories and epics for cross-functional initiatives.
Security & Compliance Architecture
Set the vision for secure software development, data protection, and compliance. Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and implement robust security measures in line with industry and regulatory standards such as SOX, GDPR, PCI.
Stakeholder Influence & Executive Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing technology investment and business strategy. Build consensus through data-driven insights and represent Walmart externally in various forums.
Talent Development & Culture
Attract, develop and retain top technical talent. Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning while modeling Walmart’s values.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Transformation
Drive digital transformation and adoption of new technologies. Encourage a growth mindset and intelligent risk-taking across the technology organization.
