Software Engineer III

About the Team

The team is looking for a strong Software Engineer to drive the building of next-generation Walmart products and platforms by designing, coding, building, and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud-based solutions. This role is expected to make a significant impact on the product through design contributions, identifying technical risks, and finding alternative solutions to various problems. Additionally, the role demands leadership, motivation, mentorship, and guidance to other team members regarding technical challenges.

What You'll Do

As a member of the team, you will be expected to code, test, and deploy cutting-edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide. You will collaborate with senior team members to gather requirements, participate in design discussions, and deploy products to production. You will interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community. Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver exceptional products. You will work closely with tech and business teams to understand requirements, design, architecture, and influence technology choices, working in tandem with senior architects and the leadership team.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline with 3 to 6 years of core software product development experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, databases, operating systems, etc.
• Big data Engineer with experience in Pyspark, Spark, python, SQL. Scala and Java knowledge are a plus.
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or similar is a plus.
• A self-motivated learner and builder with strong customer focus and an obsession with quality.
• Implemented Clean Code principles and Junits.
• Good understanding of Spark and Big Data Frameworks.
• Understanding of performance and automation aspects of coding to develop high-performing services using Big Data.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and best coding practices.
• Good to have Java and Scala knowledge.
• Minimum Qualifications: Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Option 2: 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area. Knowledge in creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
