Overview
The Customer Service Associate position at Walgreens focuses on delivering a delightful and distinctive customer experience through efficient checkout service, attentive customer engagement, and meticulous store operations. The role is temporary and requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and adherence to company policies.
Customer Experience
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience. Demonstrate and share best practices such as greeting, eye contact, and courteous behavior, along with Walgreens service traits like offering proactive help and ensuring satisfaction.
Operations
Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service. Register customer purchases on the cash register, handle cash and change, and process voids, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, manage inventory, and ensure proper product pricing. Assist with product displays, stock rotation, and in-store promotions. Support asset protection procedures and compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. Provide additional customer service in specialized areas such as the photo services and web pick-up orders.
Training & Personal Development
Attend training sessions and complete required professional learning modules (PPLs) as directed by management to enhance skills and performance.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Preference for six months retail experience and prior experience with Walgreens.
- Consideration of applicants with arrest and conviction records in San Francisco, CA.
