Job Description
About the Role: Customer Service Associate at Walgreens
As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will be instrumental in delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. This role focuses on providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient service across various store operations, ensuring customers feel valued and supported.
Customer Experience Responsibilities
- Engage with customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Resolve customer issues and answer questions effectively to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits like greeting, eye contact, and courtesy, as well as Walgreens service traits such as proactive help and ensuring satisfaction.
Operations Responsibilities
- Provide fast, courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all customers.
- Recommend items for sale, including suggesting trade-ups and companion products.
- Register customer purchases on the cash register, handle cash, provide change, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
- Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, manage inventory, and keep records accurate.
- Check in and price merchandise as directed by store management or shift leaders.
- Implement Company asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products like alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
- Construct and maintain various displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions.
- Assist with the separation of food items and proper product placement (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked, raw and frozen meats on bottom shelves).
- Assist in stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method and restock out-of-stock items for consumable products.
- Operate store systems and equipment effectively.
- Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, creative machine, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
- Assume web pick-up responsibilities, monitoring orders in Picture Care Plus, fulfilling them, and delivering to customers.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store appearance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
You will attend training sessions and complete PPLs (Personalized Performance Learning) as requested by your Manager or assigned by corporate, fostering continuous growth and skill enhancement.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is preferred (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
