Job Summary: Customer Service Associate
As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in creating a distinctive and delightful experience for every customer. This involves actively engaging with customers, efficiently handling sales transactions, and ensuring a welcoming store environment.
Customer Experience
You will be the face of Walgreens, greeting customers and patients, proactively offering assistance with products and services, and resolving their issues to ensure a positive experience. A key part of your role is to model and share customer service best practices with your team, focusing on interpersonal habits like greeting, eye contact, and courtesy, as well as Walgreens' service traits such as offering proactive help, identifying needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
Operations
This role requires providing courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service. You will recommend items, process sales on the cash register, handle cash and change, and manage voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Maintaining a clean and well-merchandised environment, taking inventory, checking in and pricing merchandise, and assisting with resets and revisions are also part of your daily tasks. You will implement asset protection procedures, ensure compliance with laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco), and assist with proper food item separation and stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method. A working knowledge of store systems and equipment is essential. You will also provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos, poster prints, creative machine assistance, and suggestive selling of photo products. Additionally, you will assume web pick-up responsibilities, monitoring and fulfilling online orders, and assist with general store maintenance to ensure a neat and orderly appearance. Compliance with all company policies, maintaining respectful coworker relationships, and completing assigned special tasks are also expected.
Training & Personal Development
Walgreens is committed to your growth. You will attend required training sessions and complete PPLs (Personalized Professional Learning) as requested by your Manager or assigned by corporate, ensuring continuous development in your role.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens.
