Job Description
About the Role: Customer Service Associate
As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in delivering a distinctive and delightful experience for every customer. You will be responsible for registering sales, providing courteous and efficient checkout services, and ensuring customer satisfaction across various store operations.
Customer Experience
Your primary focus will be engaging customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. You will model and share best practices in customer service, including interpersonal habits like greeting, eye contact, and courtesy, as well as Walgreens service traits such as proactive help, identifying needs, and servicing until satisfied.
Operations
You will provide fast, friendly, and efficient service, recommend items, and process sales, voids, returns, and exchanges accurately on the cash register. Key operational tasks include maintaining clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, taking inventory, checking in and pricing merchandise, and assisting with display construction and resets. You will also be responsible for implementing asset protection procedures, ensuring compliance with laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco), and assisting with proper food item separation and stock rotation using the first-in, first-out method. Proficiency with store systems and equipment is essential, as is providing customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos and promotional product suggestive selling. Additionally, you will assume web pick-up responsibilities, monitor orders, fill them, and deliver them to customers, and assist with maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly store appearance, all while complying with company policies and fostering respectful coworker relationships. Special assignments and other tasks will be completed as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
You are expected to attend training sessions and complete PPLs (personal performance learning) as requested by your Manager or assigned by corporate to support your continuous growth.
Basic Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico)
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
