About the Role:
The Manager of Installation represents Waites as an installation project manager onsite at our customers’ locations (both domestically and internationally). This person is primarily responsible for driving installation success, managing the installation team members assigned to the project, and installing Waites equipment on customer machines and equipment. The Manager determines the daily schedule, communicates with customer contacts onsite and internal project stakeholders (Sales, CSMs, Engineering, leadership, etc.), manages onsite inventory and shipping, and promotes a safe, positive, professional, and fun work environment. Reports to: Manager of Installation Services
Location: Must reside near airport (ideally an international hub but not required)
Travel: 80-100% travel - Domestic & International
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available at this time
Exemption Status: Exempt
Project & Installation Oversight:
- Lead and execute equipment installations on various types of industrial machinery
- Own responsibility for team performance, project planning, scheduling, and on-site execution
- Ensure projects are appropriately staffed and team assignments are carried out effectively
- Schedule product shipments and manage on-site inventory
- Maintain daily operations and ensure work environments meet client-specific cleanliness and compliance standards
- Communicate travel accommodations and logistics for the on-site teams
- Ensure all site-related activities and timelines are executed smoothly and efficiently
Onsite Leadership & Development:
- Provide feedback and coaching in real time to ensure performance
- Train and support development of both new and existing employees
Communication & Collaboration:
- Serve as primary on-site contact for customer issues prior to escalation
- Communicate daily with internal teams and leadership to align on project progress and needs
- Work cross-functionally to ensure clear and complete project information is shared in advance
- Act as an extension of the leadership team when rolling out new policies, processes, or business changes
Customer Experience & Safety:
- Maintain strong working relationships with customer Points of Contact (POC)
- Train customers on proper sensor handling, including removal and replacement procedures
- Ensure POC signs off on installation completion forms
- Uphold Waites and OSHA Health, Safety, and Environmental policies on all job sites
- Act as a champion for health and safety practices, company changes, and policy updates
Reporting & Compliance:
- Meet end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-installation (EOI) reporting requirements on time and with professionalism
- Support internal audits and special projects as needed
- May assist with system/network specialist work when not actively on assignment
- Additional responsibilities as needed/required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience working in industrial environments with exposure to maintenance operations, reliability practices, and rotating equipment is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and ability to quickly learn new software and apps
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in leading and presenting to groups
- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, self-motivated, and a collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license
- Availability to work a flexible schedule of 40 hours/week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to travel as required
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations
- Job-related certifications (preferred): OSHA 10, MSHA, Fall Protection, Working at Heights, Lift Operation, First Aid, and other client-required certifications
Working Conditions:
- Walk, use hands to handle or operate tools, and reach with arms
- Climb ladders and stairs, as well as crawl and kneel as needed
- Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type effectively
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Perform work on-site in industrial, commercial, and residential environments
