Vultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager to ensure our internal engineering projects are executed efficiently and effectively, keeping teams aligned, on schedule, and focused on delivering high impact results. The ideal candidate is a detail oriented, proactive project manager with experience working alongside software engineering teams, skilled at translating technical work into clear updates for stakeholders, and adept at managing multiple projects concurrently. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, technical fluency, and the ability to independently drive projects to completion while reducing operational load on engineering leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage project statuses and ensure technical work, dependencies, and risks are accurately captured and reported.
- Facilitate sprint planning for engineering teams balancing planned roadmap work against frequent interrupt-driven requests.
- Assist with departmental reporting by translating engineering progress into clear, concise updates for leadership.
- Work with engineering teams to capture current and future work prioritization, including technical requirements, constraints, and tradeoffs — particularly around capacity allocation between planned sprints and unplanned escalations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Maintain project timelines, task lists, and statuses, with visibility into how interrupt work impacts planned commitments.
- Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues with key stakeholders, including proactive flagging when interrupt volume threatens sprint goals.
- Assist with engineering team planning and roadmapping, ensuring technical capacity, dependencies, and platform considerations are accounted for.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience as a technical project manager or in a project role supporting engineering, infrastructure, or software development teams.
- 1-2 years experience with project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Asana, Trello, or similar)
- Experience working in a remote, agile environment
- Experience putting together technical project status reports
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Strong communication skills
- ‘In service to’ mindset with respect to the team's processes and communication practices.
Compensation
$75,000 - $95,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
