Position Overview
The Operations Intern summer program is a 10-12 week internship designed to introduce talented individuals to the aggregates industry and provide exposure to many aspects of Vulcan's operations including Quarrying, Production, Quality Control, Hot-Mix Asphalt, Ready-Mix, Ship Yards, Rail Yards, Logistics, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental Compliance.
What You'll Do
- Participate in hands-on training with crushing, processing equipment, and pit development.
- Rotate through temporary assignments to gain full business understanding.
- Prioritize safety and ensure full compliance with company policies.
- Analyze production, inventory, quality control, and operational reports.
- Conduct daily inspections and assist with maintenance and repairs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required or student graduating Fall 2025 or Summer 2026. Candidates must demonstrate ethical decision-making, strong leadership and communication skills, flexibility to work overtime and varied weather conditions, and excellent interpersonal abilities.
