At VSP Vision, we are dedicated to helping people see every possibility by connecting nearly 90 million patients and their health data to network doctors globally. You will join the Enterprise Architecture team, which is responsible for VSP's overall technology direction.
Role Responsibilities
As the Software Engineer Intern AI Frameworks, you will partner with VSP Technology experts and support a dynamic team across its primary functions. This unique opportunity will allow you to gain broad experience in the many elements contributing to a multi-faceted enterprise's daily operations and develop critical business competencies. During this internship, you may assist with the following duties:
- Curating a data training set for VSP's AI efforts.
- Editing training data files, running training jobs, and evaluating results.
- Programming with Large Language Models (LLM) to automate data curation.
- Documenting evaluation results and guiding further curation practices.
- Engaging in basic prompt engineering and interacting with LLMs to assess outcomes.
Preferred Skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- General understanding of secure coding requirements.
- Familiarity with AWS services.
- Proficiency in text editing tools (MS Word, Notepad++) and spreadsheets (Excel).
- Comfortable using web browsers (Chrome).

Education and Program Details
- Applicants should be in their 3rd or 4th year of study.
- Target degree: Computer Science.
- Program Dates: June 1st to August 7th (must be able to work the full 10 weeks).
Compensation
The compensation range for this role is between $26.50 - $36.50 per hour. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
