Overview

The Machinist IV - 2nd Shift CNC Campbell Grind or CNC Turn at VSE Corporation is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a 15% shift differential, with pay up to $50.00 based on experience.

Job Summary

The Machinist IV is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and modifying aviation accessories using advanced machining techniques in accordance with manufacturer instructions, FAA requirements, and industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines including mills, lathes, or hones.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Prioritize repairs to meet on-time delivery and production deadlines.
  • Develop tooling using engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Document all maintenance and repair work per FAA and company requirements.
  • Inspect aviation components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment daily.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of shop supplies and tooling.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering to resolve issues.
  • Adhere to FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • 7+ years machining experience or relevant technical degree.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft accessories and machining requirements.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.
  • MRO experience is a plus.
