Role Summary
The Machinist III is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and modifying aviation accessories using advanced machining techniques while adhering to FAA regulations and quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, mills, lathes, or hones.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Document maintenance and repair work per FAA and company protocols.
- Inspect aviation components ensuring quality compliance.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments daily.
- Maintain inventory of shop supplies and tooling.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams.
- Adhere to FAA Part 145 Repair Station standards and safety protocols.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Minimum Requirements
- 7 years of machinist experience or a Bachelor’s/Technical degree (A&P) in lieu of 3 years experience.
- Strong understanding of aircraft accessories and machining requirements.
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical specs.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of machinist experience.
- Experience in MRO environments.
