Position Overview
The Machinist I - 2nd Shift at VSE Corporation performs alteration tasks on aviation articles in accordance with manufacturer and FAA approved technical data. The role involves developing, duplicating and manufacturing tooling equipment as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Setting up and operating CNC machines, including mills, lathes, or hones machining equipment to produce parts to required specifications.
- Interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Prioritizing components for repairs to ensure on-time delivery.
- Performing quality checks using precision measuring tools and equipment.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and/or hones machining equipment.
- Documenting maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.
- Collaborating with engineering and quality teams to meet strict aerospace standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum & Preferred Requirements
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 2-3 years of relevant technical work experience. Preferred candidates have 5+ years of work experience or an Associate's degree, as well as 1 year of machinist experience. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word) are required. Flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
