We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester County, providing emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. Our comprehensive services support families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and other individuals in need, including a specialized education preschool program.

In this hybrid role, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of dashboards, KPI scorecards, and recurring performance reports for teams throughout the organization. Your responsibilities will include collecting, cleaning, validating, and standardizing data from diverse sources, ensuring consistent metric definitions, and documenting processes. You will serve as a vital communication link among stakeholders, guaranteeing that reporting is accurate, timely, and trustworthy. Additionally, you will play a key role in identifying data quality issues, documenting operational procedures, and providing service-oriented support to empower leaders in making clear, data-informed decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Statistics, Information Systems, Data/Computer-related field, or a similar discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, reporting, operations, research, or related work, including internships, academic projects, and relevant part-time employment.
- Demonstrated experience or strong capability in:
- Data cleaning & validation
- Process documentation & reporting
- Cross-functional coordination & stakeholder communications
- Inclusive, service-oriented collaboration
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas and charts.
- Comfort working with recurring reporting timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Certifications (Optional)
While not strictly required, certifications such as the Google Data Analytics Certificate, Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI), Tableau Desktop Specialist, or similar credentials are considered a valuable asset for this role.
Junior Data Analyst Principal Responsibilities
- Support KPI dashboards and reporting cadences (weekly/monthly/quarterly) by refreshing datasets, updating dashboard views, and delivering recurring KPI outputs on schedule.
- Maintain KPI definitions and 'single source of truth' logic by partnering with stakeholders to confirm metric calculations, targets, filters, and business rules, ensuring consistent usage across teams.
- Perform data cleaning and validation, identifying missing, inconsistent, duplicate, or outlier values; apply repeatable fixes; and escalate systemic issues with clear evidence.
- Monitor data quality and reporting integrity by running routine QA checks, reconciling totals across sources, investigating anomalies, and documenting findings and resolutions.
- Document reporting processes and data lineage, maintaining clear documentation for data sources, refresh schedules, field definitions, assumptions, and dashboard change logs.
- Coordinate cross-functional reporting requests, translating stakeholder questions into measurable metrics, clarifying requirements, and communicating progress, risks, and limitations in plain language.
- Create and maintain standard reports and summaries, producing stakeholder-ready tables, charts, and written highlights that effectively explain trends and underlying drivers.
- Support reporting tool upkeep, assisting with light dashboard maintenance in a BI tool (e.g., Tableau/Power BI/Looker Studio) and/or basic SQL querying as needed, while adhering to governance and access policies.
