About the Role

The Dispatch Operations Lead at Voltus plays a critical role in decarbonizing the electric grid by managing dispatches and activating distributed energy resources during grid events. This part-time, remote role based in the United Kingdom requires working during North America night/early morning hours on weekends, Mondays, and Tuesdays.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain readiness to receive dispatches from grid operators and utilities.
  • Execute dispatches across various grid operator programs with expertise.
  • Maximize customer participation through a streamlined dispatch management process.
  • Support real-time customer site offer optimization in day-ahead markets.
  • Lead internal communications during dispatches and support flawless execution.
  • Capture lessons learned and follow up on customer inquiries.
  • Assist market leads with post-dispatch performance analytics.
  • Operate Voltus’ in-house Peak Saver programs including communications.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Monitor market participation and ensure compliance with Voltus standards.
  • Audit offers portfolio for sub-optimal schedules and performance.
  • Support process documentation, stakeholder communications, and customer readiness.
  • Create seasonal communications and readiness alerts in collaboration with Customer Success.
  • Manage reporting tools and conduct ad hoc data analysis using Google Sheets, Python, or SQL.
  • Lead continuous training in dispatch operations using various materials.

Work Environment & Schedule

This remote role requires candidates to work 4-hour shifts between 9am - 1pm GMT from Saturday through Tuesday, with occasional spot coverage and weekly team meetings of 1-2 hours.
