Job Description
The Senior Stress Engineer is responsible for preparing optimal and efficient stress analysis of structural parts using classical analysis, Finite Element Analysis, and hand calculations combined with sound engineering judgment. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing lightweight materials and CFRP structures.
- Writing and checking full stress analysis reports.
- Ensuring certifiability by following global standards and state of the art stress analysis methods.
- Executing trade off studies to validate design solutions.
- Conducting drawing reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
- Supporting testing activities across the test pyramid and addressing non-conformity reports (NCR).
- Evaluating and challenging design concepts to ensure safety, manufacturability, maintainability, and inspectability.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- A university degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Vehicle Engineering.
- Minimum 5-6 years' experience in a stress engineering role in aerospace, including composite material experience.
- Knowledge of metals, composite materials, manufacturing processes, testing, and production deviations.
- Expertise in aerospace requirements, standards and certifications (CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, SC-VTOL).
- Experience with structural analysis tools (e.g., Patran/Nastran, Hyperworks) and PLM systems (e.g., Team Center).
- Basic coding skills in VBA, Python, etc.
- Strong problem solving, teamwork, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English.
