What You Can Expect

  • As an Expert Application Operations Run, you ensure the 24/7 availability and performance of all responsible platforms and applications for end customers, customer service, and other departments. This involves analyzing and optimizing managed systems and building efficient monitoring.
  • You coordinate and drive the independent, targeted processing and resolution of highly complex incidents by collaborating with and managing development units, external suppliers, and other service providers.
  • You support software quality optimization through continuous analysis of occurring errors (incident/problem management) and regular review meetings with development partners, as well as testing and delivery areas.
  • You assist in project work during the feasibility, implementation, and stabilization phases after Go-Live.
  • You ensure compliance with prescribed security guidelines for the responsible applications, systems, and platforms by analyzing accesses and authorizations, implementing corrective measures, and supporting SOX and Security Audits.
  • You automate workflows by analyzing and optimizing procedures and methods, and continuously adapting reporting, monitoring, and alarming.
  • You monitor system utilization (Capacity Management) using IO tools and initiate corrective actions.
  • You independently manage external employees in the Shared Service Center or external service providers to deliver services for the responsible systems.
  • You technically manage external and internal service providers and suppliers of IT systems and supported business processes.

What Sets You Apart

  • Completed technical or industrial engineering degree or comparable education.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in operating complex system landscapes.
  • Comprehensive process and IT know-how in telecommunications.
  • Profound knowledge in the areas of: operating systems (e.g., AIX, HP-UX, Sun Solaris, Linux, Windows), middleware/web technologies (e.g., Tuxedo, WebLogic, Tomcat), databases (e.g., Oracle).
  • Knowledge of operating applications in the Cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI etc.).
  • Profound knowledge in UNIX scripting, Perl, PL/SQL, Python, etc.
  • Strong analytical, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial thinking and acting.
  • ITIL knowledge and Kepner-Tregoe methodology knowledge.
  • Basic network and protocol knowledge as well as experience in load balancing.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken (B1.x).
  • German language skills desirable.
