Responsibilities
Strategic Account Planning
- Own and maintain the client spend management account plan, ensuring alignment with evolving client needs and business strategy.
- Lead the development and execution of account, project, and work plans collaboratively with client stakeholders and Vizient resources.
Category Strategy Development
- Engage client leadership on non-labor spend categories, demonstrating knowledge of healthcare supply chain trends and best practices.
- Lead category workplan initiatives from opportunity identification through value validation.
- Navigate client governance to secure decisions and drive adoption of standardization and utilization changes.
- Ensure category strategies account for operational realities, including procurement, inventory, distribution, and clinical workflow impacts.
- Interpret Vizient insights to align with client priorities and guide the delivery team in recommending and sequencing category initiatives.
Value Delivery & Performance Accountability
- Own value realization for the spend roadmap by defining targets, tracking progress, and ensuring validated savings.
- Establish and maintain a benefits tracking approach (savings, compliance, utilization, operational outcomes) and communicate results through business reviews.
- Partner with contracting/category resources to drive contract performance and utilization improvement.
Executive Influence & Presence
- Deliver influential value propositions and decision-enabling narratives to drive adoption of Vizient tools/services.
- Lead executive decision-making discussions to secure agreed priorities, governance commitments, and clear accountability.
- Tailor executive narratives to connect spend initiatives to enterprise priorities like margin, access, capacity, safety, and risk.
- Serve as the primary client contact for spend workplans, engaging director/VP stakeholders and participating in executive business reviews.
Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
- Identify issues, analyze options, and drive solutions to mitigate risk and accelerate provider outcomes.
- Translate complex spend, utilization, and category performance analytics into clear, compelling narratives that influence decisions.
- Equip internal SMEs and stakeholders with consistent executive-ready insights and materials.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with supply chain and cross-functional provider stakeholders.
- Conduct regular spend management business and/or project reviews to communicate progress and value delivered.
Delivery Spend & Operational Leadership
- Lead internal team meetings to align on workplan progress, risks, and next steps.
- Facilitate internal accountability for a consistent Vizient delivery experience.
Analytics & Storytelling
- Translate complex analytics into clear, compelling narratives to influence decisions and drive adoption.
- Equip internal SMEs and stakeholders with executive-ready insights and materials.
Renewal and Expansion Execution
- Identify and shape expansion opportunities by connecting client priorities to additional Vizient capabilities.
- Partner with enterprise/sales teams to build the value case and scope for expansion opportunities.
- Partner on renewal execution, including modeling, upsells, scope approvals, SOW generation, and invoicing support.
Mentoring
- Act as a peer educator, sharing best practices and supporting the onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of direct, accountable experience making and influencing supply chain decisions within hospitals/health systems, including governance participation, hands-on sourcing, procurement, standardization execution, and ownership of financially measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate supply chain data and systems insights into actions and executive-level narratives.
- Ability to build and execute account plans/workplans aligned to client priorities, manage stakeholder maps, cadence, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience developing and monitoring category strategies tied to client performance and improvement targets.
- Ability to build and sustain trust-based relationships, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive engagement.
- Communicate confidently to senior audiences, presenting recommendations and ROI narratives with credibility.
- Ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and drive solutions through ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Candidates residing in the Upper Midwest region of the U.S. are preferred.
- Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously to meet client's expectations and timetables.

Estimated Hiring Range
At Vizient, compensation decisions are based on skills, experience, and organizational needs. Geographic factors may adjust the range. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00. This position is also incentive eligible. Vizient offers a comprehensive benefits plan.
