Operations Manager - Payments

As the Operations Manager - Payments at Vitesse PSP, you will report to the VP, Operations and be accountable for the efficient, timely, and accurate processing of payments. You will lead a high-performing team, manage operational risk, and handle incidents and escalations. This role is instrumental in futureproofing Operations to meet Vitesse’s strategic and commercial goals, while ensuring operational resilience, scalability, and compliance.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Risk, Operations Change, Commercial, and Customer Support to deliver a controlled and seamless payment operations function. A strong focus on data-driven decision-making and risk awareness is required to execute operational strategies supporting long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day BAU operations ensuring SLA compliance and excellence.
  • Monitor team performance for high productivity and quality.
  • Manage escalations and incidents with timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Implement strategies aligning with Vitesse’s long-term objectives.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations Control to maintain controlled, auditable processes.
  • Produce management information and insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to projects enhancing customer journey and process efficiency.
  • Coach and develop team members for continuous improvement and career growth.

What You Need to Succeed

You are a results-driven leader with deep operational expertise within payments and a proven ability to manage teams. This role requires building scalable processes in a risk-controlled environment.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services, ideally in payments.
  • At least 1 year of direct people management experience.
  • Experience working with senior leadership.
  • Deep understanding of payment processing lifecycles and risk controls.
  • Proven capability in incident management and escalation handling.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and capable of independent work.
